Sunday Express readers grant a sick little girl her Christmas wish
A MOTHER has issued heartfelt thanks to our readers for making her terminally ill daughter’s Christmas dream come true.
Last week the Sunday Express reported how Jolene Hale, 32, had stopped her daughter’s chemotherapy so she could enjoy her last Christmas free from pain.
Isabella Coomber, three, who has had a brain tumour since she was one, then asked Santa if she could visit Disneyland.
Her mother feared she couldn’t fulfil this wish but within hours of our story appearing, kind readers donated more than £22,000.
Jolene of Charlton, London, had hoped to go to Disneyland Paris but now has enough to take Isabella and her sisters Rebecca, seven, and Sophia, one, to Disney World in Florida.
She said doctors told her at the end of the summer that Isabella had only months to live. “It broke my heart. I realised I would never see the sun shine on her beautiful little face again.
But the amount readers pledged means we can take her to America and she will feel the sunshine on her face.”
